The Life And Times Of JB

"I'm not an MC, I'm not a G, I mean I'm A to Z - and everything in between."

The song of the moment (December 14, 2007) is "Even If It Kills Me" by Motion City Soundtrack

The pain of rejection ...

Two blog postings in the one day? That's ridiculous I hear you say! (I'm a poet but I don't know it!)

Combined with the stress of moving house is the fear of rejection - most notably, by members of the opposite sex.

I went on a rare date on Friday night in one of this city's trendy suburbs with an equally as trendy chick. We met at a party the week earlier and seemingly hit it off. Or so I thought.

Let's call her the AK-27, although she's far from assaulting, except on the mind and the eyes.

I always knew the topic of my trip was going to come up, which basically poured cold water over any chances for hot romance with this lovely lass. My fortunes changed after that.

She was the likely type. Timing, though, is everything.

The stress of moving house ...

It was my chiropractor who said that aside from the death of your self or someone you know, moving house is the next most stressful thing.

In attempting to move from my swank inner-city abode for some well-needed time abroad, I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments. I don't think I'll ever live with someone in a shared-house arrangement ever again (apologies to the District Attorney).

Economics, however, will prove whether this is the case.

Good things happen in threes ...

I have had my fair share of downers recently, but good news is on the horizon.

Supporters of JB would know he's endured a string of bad luck/bad management recently. Bad things happen in threes (non-talkative flatmate moving out, problems with a very large country's consulate and even bigger problems with a recent acquired technological device - previously known as the iOverpricedoverhypedMP3player - as mentioned on this board).

But so do good things. These include my upcoming holiday, an iPod that now works and other promising signs.

Stay tuned ... you know the drill.

Four weeks (and less than half a day) to go ...

I'll be flying from the land down under to the mother country on July 4. From there I go to Canada and then my second home, the United States of America.

Exciting times are ahead.

iHave joined the dark side ...

Using the Internet I purchased a 60GB iPod Photo today for just under $A600. I know the District Attorney (S to the D'A) won't be happy. He thinks that this personal and portable jukebox is contributing to the tethering of society. But I wholeheartedly invite him to publish his displeasure on this so-called blog.

If music is the soundtrack to my life, then I will soon be nodding and plodding to the best sounds around! Custard once said: "I used to think we had the technology". Well, now we have. I'm just a few years behind.

Yay for Yablett ...

For anyone who knows me, the GFC (Geelong Football Club) are close to my heart and the news that Gary Ablett will be inducted into the AFL Hall Of Fame gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

On the field, he was like no other. Off it, he has many flaws. The major one? ''God'' was too affected by alcohol and probably drugs to save the life of a young fan, 20-year-old Alisha Horan, who died after a night partying with Ablett. Coroner Noreen Toohey said an infatuated Horan was out of her league.

For Horan's family, the pain will never go away, which explains why Ablett's inclusion was always going to cause a furore. But the time is now.
